Guest Heart Thursday #216

Welcome to Guest Heart Thursday -
A Place to Share YOUR Heart!

Good morning heart lovers!  This is Clytie's sister, Beth. I'm posting for her today because Sissy has a pinched nerve in her neck, which is causing her terrible pain in not only her neck, but her arm and fingers.  She is experiencing numbness and can't sit at the computer for any more than a few moments at a time.

Please pray for her quick recovery.  She went to the doctor yesterday, and she says, with the anti-inflammatory, that she's feeling a little better--but it will be a long process.

Last week, Sissy, the twins and I went to the beach.  Ah, what fun we had.  Sissy and I both caught this little girl running across the sands toward the ocean.  I believe this was her first glimpse of the sea.  If you look closely, you can see the sand is full of hearts.

The beach was beautiful--with fantastic clouds and balmy temperatures.

Of course, walking on the beach with Sissy means hearts just magically appear!

Have a lovely day everyone--thank you for your prayers for Clytie's quick recovery.  She is so dear to me and to so many--a great encourager and laughter maker.  My sweet Friend for life--and yours too!

A Heart, and a drop of Pitch

I was trying to capture the amber beauty of a drop of pitch.
I found a heart as well.
Do you see it?
It's in the upper left corner of the picture.

It almost looks like this heart
Is crying.

Well in Hand

Sometimes the old doorknob comes loose, letting in little bits of sunshine in the morning. I couldn't believe it when I followed the light with my hand -- and ended up with a heart!

Yellow Lichen

I found this yellow and red lichen heart the other day.
The sun made the colors seem to glow!
Alas, it would have not worked today.
Cold. Windy. Rainy.

Stretchy Heart

I found these broken rubberbands near the compost bin, and couldn't help seeing the heart created!

Frog Eggs

My dad loves his little pond ... complete with itty bitty goldfish, and small but perfect water lilies (Not now, of course, but in the summer they are gorgeous!). This time of year, though, it appears our froggie friends are doing a little more than just waking up ...

I happened upon some frog egg clusters and decided to take some close-up pictures. That's when I noticed the heart! I'll have to keep a close watch on this one.

Search (for) Your Heart

I snapped this random picture of the front of the abandoned megachurch across the street. When I enlarged it, I noticed a heart. Can you find it? Hint: It's broken ...

Fluffy Heart

Does this heart make my butt look fat?

By the way meet the heart-shaped fluffy butt of one of my Ladies. Isn't she cute? She sleeps on the wood box in front of the house with her good friend "Vulture Chicken" and they spend hours staring at us through the window. Kinda creepy sometimes, but they seem so happy and safe there.

Yes, Deer

Meandering through muck and mulch, following whatever trail I came to ...
What should I find but the much used trail of deer ...
Which, much to my ultimate happiness ...
Yielded this one perfect heart ...

Which shall not compare to the hearts submitted ...
By my "deer" and 'heart'y (yet loonie) friends ...
Of ultimate coolness and imagination ...

Antsy

Okay, I admit it ... I broke my own rules! I set this one up! We had a sudden invasion of sugar ants this morning and I just couldn't resist!

Melted Plastic

How did this partially melted plastic bottle end up in the woods? Who knows ... but it now resides RIP in my recycle bin, where it should have been from the beginning. Except then I wouldn't have seen the heart of the bottle ...

Bird Bop

Okay, so I couldn't be outdone by my sister Beth's "elk dung" heart! So without fanfare, I present "bird bop" heart! It is a little blurry, but I guess that's okay ... maybe even a blessing?

Barred!

Hearts can be found in the most unexpected places. I found this barred window in the old town part of Oregon City in an alley near the courthouse. Just beneath the barred window, I found this curious pile of clothing. They don't really go together, but they do.

Another Mushroom

I am always delighted at how Nature distributes her hearts. I am thankful to be given the "heart" to find them!

(Broken) Heart of the Forest

My sister and I found this heart when we went on our tromp in the woods last week. I have very mixed feelings about this. There is the beauty of the heart, but at the cost of the living tree. This whole area (about 14 acres of awesome woods) was clear cut by our local "environmentalist" group (AKA Metro), who purchased the property. They, get this, intend to replant it with neat little rows of "native vegetation". So what was wrong with the native vegetation that was here already? Can we Americans only enjoy our "nature" in neat little rows with identifying signs and cute little footpaths? In our effort to "preserve" our environment, we are ending up destroying the best parts of it.

Where will the deer herd go now? How about the birds? Owls, pileated woodpeckers, red tailed hawk, all manner of songbirds used to call this area home. Whatever happened to "enjoying it without destroying it". I scratch my head ... and then pray for all of God's creatures and creations.

I heart coffee

C .. O .. F .. F .. E .. E ..

Mornings wouldn't be the same without it!

Almost threw out this used filter w/grounds ... then saw the heart within.

The grounds were still hot, so I got a little steam on the lens, but I like the effect! Makes me feel warm and fuzzy. Or maybe it's the stuff I'm drinking right now that makes me feel warm and fuzzy. Who cares, as long as I can feel warm and fuzzy and still be awake!!!

Barbie!

One of the most amazing hearts I have found was near the kids' playhouse by the woods. I hope you can appreciate this head's, er, heart's unique and total randomness!

Junsu's Heart

This is Junsu, he owns my daughter Georgia. I knew he had a spot of white on his tummy, but didn't realize it was a heart until this morning, when he so thoughtfully posed for me on the couch. What a "sweetheart"!

Gravel heart

Just goes to show hearts are everywhere! I found this one at the road's gravelly edge ...

Right On Target

At the abandoned megachurch across the street I came across a section of wall that had been used for target practice. The impromptu shooting range was closed down by the police, and all that's left are some holes ... and hearts.
