Go Ahead, Tread On Me!

I found this dried up mud puddle heart at the end of my own driveway.

(When I say "driveway", I really mean "I'm not bothering to wash the mud off my car until summer-way"!)

I like thinking that this is one heart I really don't mind driving over. Because now I know it's there! And the tire prints make it MINE!

Ohmigosh!!!

I could hardly believe it when I read the comment from Darlene at A Dancing Mango ... and found I had won the One World One Heart (OWOH) Picture she made!!!

I was so excited I started crying, and then danced about the house in a fit of euphoria and amazement.

For those of you who don't know Darlene, she is a wonderful artist, who makes the most amazing art. Her dolls are so lifelike, you feel you can see their soul in their eyes. You really need to check out the beauty she creates.

Thank you so much, Darlene, for participating in OWOH - for sharing YOUR heart with the world.

I dedicate this (hole in a rock) heart picture to you, Darlene. This heart is near and dear to me. This heart is the first one I ever posted on this blog! This heart is what STARTED it all!!!

Wet insulation

This piece of insulation has been left in the parking lot across the street for months. It has been saturated, stepped on, and ripped apart.

I have seen it many times, but this is the first time I saw the cute little heart.

So Much for Romance???

For some ...

Valentines is over - until next year.

Not so for me! Their trash becomes my treasure(d) heart.

Another Vandalized Heart

I don't know where it came from,
Just that it was there.
Torn from somewhere
By someone
For fun?
For excitement?

But it has become a vibrant, beautiful heart!

Valentine Moss - A Little Late

A mossy (late) Valentines Heart for you!

You may wonder why and how I missed posting on February 14th ... well my computer caught a virus and died.

When I say "died", I mean BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) dead.

My "technician" had to completely wipe and restore the entire system, and it was not fun. Fortunately this time I had "backup" and did not lose all of my pictures!!!

But I missed Valentines Day.

After consideration, I have decided that on THIS BLOG, Every Day is Valentines Day!!! Now I don't feel so bad.

I hope everyone out there had a LOVELY day!

And Yet Another Lichen Heart ...

I'm not sure what kind of lichen it is ...
Or maybe it's a weird alien fungus ...

But I keep finding patterns ...

And hearts!

Neighborly Heart

Victoria and I were taking a walk. We had gone nearly a mile when I stopped to take this picture.

"Whatcha taking a picture of, mom?"
"That tree."
"Why? It doesn't have a heart right in the front of it."
"Yes it does."
Giggle.

Yeah, I fell for it.

She can be so much fun!

Pussywillow

The pussywillows are out in force at the Fanno Creek Nature Preserve in Tigard.
I walked there, admiring the bright white balls of fluff high up in the trees.

This one had fallen to the ground on the footbridge.
If you enlarge the photo you will also see
That it is a cute, fuzzy little Heart of Spring!

Footprint ...

I looked back at the footprints I left in the mud,
and was surprised to see I had left a heart as well!

Moss of the Woods

I found this bit of moss at dusk.
I like the way the flash enhanced the
Vibrant Green color --
Of this woodsy heart.

Broken Heart ...

My cat was going crazy, playing with something in the yard. I went to investigate and found she was throwing around a wet fallen "bughouse" that was disintegrating in her paws as she pounced, grabbed, and threw it into the air.

One of the pieces caught my eye ...

Dead Leaf

I found this heart shaped leaf on the ground and took its portrait. As I stepped to the side, the heart disappeared and I saw just another dead leaf.

I was honored that this leaf chose to reveal to me ...

Its inner beauty.

Black Plastic

I found this torn piece of plastic near the woods.
