Guest Heart Thursday #215

Welcome to Guest Heart Thursday -

Mom was cutting up some peppers yesterday when she carefully placed a small piece of it in my hand.

I don't know which was sweeter ...
The tiny little heart ...
Or the delight on mom's face!

Thank you, mom, for sharing your heart!

I adore this postcard Dorothy posted on her blog, "Coffeedoff's CoffeeBreak".
It makes me smile!!!

Guest Heart Thursday #214

Welcome to Guest Heart Thursday -
A Place to Share YOUR Heart!

In two days, my FAVORITE ARTIST IN THE WORLD celebrates a birthday.
So today I am going to share a bit of her past art ...

HA HA SISSIE!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR BETH!!!!!

This is an amazing pencil sketch Beth made back in 1972.
If you enlarge it, and really start to look, you will see so much more than just a still life!!!
There is a face hidden here, and a heart, and ... well, what do you see?

When we were growing up, Beth kept a book of her artwork and writing.
As a temperamental teenager, she threw it away.
Because I've always been in awe of her work, I rescued it!
It seems like even back then, she included hearts in her artwork!!!

Beth got her book back this year ... I feel so privileged to have been it's guardian for all these years!

But she will NOT be getting back this little feller ... because this is one she gave to ME back in the 1980's!
(That's a real leaf, by the way!)

Please visit Beth at her art blog, "Beth's Artworx" ... to see what she's been up to lately.
And to wish her HAPPY BIRTHDAY on Saturday!
Her artwork has only gotten better ... her imagination richer!!!

Thank you, sissie, for sharing your art.
And for sharing your love.
And for sharing your friendship.
And for the inspiration you bring!
Most of all, thank you for sharing your heart!!!

As always - a huge thank you to all who found hearts last week. I can't wait for you to link up today ... and show everyone the amazing hearts you found in your world this week!!!

Guest Heart Thursday #212

Welcome to Guest Heart Thursday -
A Place to Share YOUR Heart!

I fell in love with this beautiful ferny heart, with its attendant little stem heart underneath - that Laura posted on her blog, "Shine the Divine: Creativity is a Spiritual Practice".

Laura has been hosting "I Heart Macro", and I've sooo enjoyed visiting her and the amazing links featured each week!

Thank you, Laura, for sharing your heart!
And thank you for being a huge inspiration in my life!
And thank you, too, for hosting I Heart Macro!

I followed one of the links to "I Heart Macro", and came across this absolutely gorgeous Bleeding Heart flower that Villrose posted on "Villroses Hage".
Bleeding Hearts are some of my favorite flowers!
Hmmmm, I wonder why that would be?

Thank you so much, Villrose, for sharing your heart!

Due to a little, uh, drainage issue we've been having, we've had to haul some gravel.
My neighbor, Amber, was helping shovel and dump the heavy stuff.
Along the way, we all picked up interesting river rocks out of the huge pile ...
I had to smile when Amber handed me this one.
A perfect little heart!

Thank you, Amber, for sharing your heart!
And thank you for helping, too.

As always - a huge thank you to all who found hearts last week. I can't wait for you to link up today ... and show everyone the amazing hearts you found in your world this week!!!

Screen Door Heart

We have one of those screen doors that click together with magnets ...
It works wonderfully, but only lasts a year or so (good thing they're cheap!), and it's almost time to replace last year's with a new one.

I hated to do it, though, when I found this!

Yummy Sandwich Heart

The other day I was making a sandwich for lunch ...
When I came across this air bubble in my bread ...

Eat Your Heart Out ...
Takes on a whole new meaning!!!

Guest Heart Thursday #211

Welcome to Guest Heart Thursday -
A Place to Share YOUR Heart!

Well he's done it again ... Jose found yet another heart!
Unfortunately, this one is not so pretty as some of the others he's posted ...
And will probably be covered up soon, along with all of the other graffiti.
(I love this staircase, though, don't you?)
To see more of Jose's gorgeous world, check out "Lisbon and the Sunny Coast".

Thank you, JM, for sharing your heart!

Look at this gorgeous cloud heart Cloudia linked up the other day - it's one of the most perfect cloud hearts I've seen!!!
Cloudia's blog, "Comfort Spiral" is full of gorgeous photos, quotes and more - when you visit be prepared to spend a lot of time checking it out (and then you can say you visited Hawaii today!!!)

((on a personal note, Cloudia, I love your name!!! - it brings back lots of good memories from when I was in Germany and "Clytie" didn't translate well. Most of my German coworkers called me "Cloudia"!!!))

Thank you, Cloudia, for sharing your heart!
(and, for a few years, your name!)

I love finding hearts on Debbie's blog, "It's All About Purple".
Do you see the heart here?
Look at the way this adorable squirrel is holding its treat ...
Those little paws are in the shape of a heart!!!

Thank you, Debbie, for sharing your heart!

Guest Heart Thursday #210

Welcome to Guest Heart Thursday -
A Place to Share YOUR Heart!

This is a special ANNIVERSARY edition of Guest Heart Thursday.
No, not a GHT Anniversary ...
A SISSIE anniversary!

Because 31 years ago yesterday, my sister Beth married the man of her dreams!

Wow, that was a long time ago!
Meet Alan, Beth and Missie.
When Alan and Beth were dating ...
(Missie was my dog, but I happily loaned her out as "boyfriend" protection!)

Alan no longer has the motorcycle ...
But he still has the beautiful lady!

And I believe he also still has that HAT!

You can find out what Alan and Beth are doing these 31 years later ...
by visiting their website ..

You can visit Beth by visiting one of her blogs ...

and

Thank you Alan and Beth ... for sharing your LOVE STORY ... and your HEARTS!!!

As always - a huge thank you to all who found hearts last week. I can't wait for you to link up today ... and show everyone the amazing hearts you found in your world this week!!!

Mothers Day Postcard

I love this postcard of a mother polar bear with her new cub.
With Mother's Day right around the corner, I thought this was perfect!
Where's a heart, you ask?
Well, if you really stretch your imagination, I suppose this mother bear's face is kinda-sorta heart shaped!
But most of all ... this beautiful picture warms MY heart!

I'm linking this up with Beth's "Postcard Friendship Friday"!

((P.S. sissie ... just you wait til it's YOUR turn to celebrate another year!!!))

Guest Heart Thursday #208

Welcome to Guest Heart Thursday -
A Place to Share YOUR Heart!

Judy captured my heart long ago with her incredible photography, and her blog, "Lilac Gate".

Earlier this week, Judy posted a bunch of pictures of her hoya plant which was "blooming its heart out". And if you look carefully at these floret clusters ... you will see several of the florets really do have hearts hiding right there in plain sight!!!

Thank you, Judy, for sharing your heart!

Guest Heart Thursday #207

Welcome to Guest Heart Thursday -
A Place to Share YOUR Heart!

Lois is one of the first people I met when I started blogging so long ago. She taught me a lot! She took a break for a while, and I missed her so much ...
But she's back now, giving me my sunshine fix on her blog, "Tallahassee Daily Photo".

I don't think Lois realized, when she posted this shot, that she captured a bunch of stylish hearts in the bed frame!

Thank you, Lois, for sharing your heart!

I was watching a travel show on PBS earlier this week when I heard the host say he was featuring Lisbon.
As I watched the show, I couldn't help but compare his "tourist" Lisbon with the Lisbon I've come to love through the camera of JM. In short ... there was no comparison. The touristy show fell flat.

JM captures Lisbon and more on his blog, "Lisbon and the Sunny Coast".

And sometimes he captures hearts. Like the ones on this tree ...

Thank you, JM, for sharing the REAL Lisbon ... and for sharing your heart!

As always - a huge thank you to all who found hearts last week. I can't wait for you to link up today ... and show everyone the amazing hearts you found in your world this week!!!

Heart ... With Shadows

My daughter is all grown up now ...

A bittersweet moment came when I disassembled her childhood bed ...
The old one was particle board. When I pulled it apart, the clips pulled out, leaving wood chips and splinters everywhere.
That was the bitter part.
The sweet came later. When I found the heart.
Framed by springtime shadows.

A Heart For Alan and Beth

Because my camera was not cooperating with macros, Beth lent me her old one for a time (her sweetie Alan too, since it was now his!). I couldn't wait to start capturing the world close up again!

The first thing I did was go outside.

The wild cherry trees were in full and glorious bloom.
The sun was shining after weeks of wet.

When I got back inside, I found these two little sun reflection hearts on one of the first pictures I took. They didn't appear on any of the other shots!!!

Alan called the other day ...
He and Beth decided that I should keep the little camera.

Somehow I think the camera already knew!!!
