Pussywillow

The pussywillows are out in force at the Fanno Creek Nature Preserve in Tigard.
I walked there, admiring the bright white balls of fluff high up in the trees.

This one had fallen to the ground on the footbridge.

That it is a cute, fuzzy little Heart of Spring!

Footprint ...

I looked back at the footprints I left in the mud,
and was surprised to see I had left a heart as well!

Moss of the Woods

I found this bit of moss at dusk.
I like the way the flash enhanced the
Vibrant Green color --
Of this woodsy heart.

Broken Heart ...

My cat was going crazy, playing with something in the yard. I went to investigate and found she was throwing around a wet fallen "bughouse" that was disintegrating in her paws as she pounced, grabbed, and threw it into the air.

One of the pieces caught my eye ...

Dead Leaf

I found this heart shaped leaf on the ground and took its portrait. As I stepped to the side, the heart disappeared and I saw just another dead leaf.

I was honored that this leaf chose to reveal to me ...

Its inner beauty.

Black Plastic

I found this torn piece of plastic near the woods.

And it Smells Better Than It Looks!

I took a long walk today at the abandoned church.
And found a beautiful blossoming tree.
I don't know what kind of tree it is,
But it's scent is divine!!!

Ripped Jeans

We all laughed
Like crazy people --
To see the hole in my jeans ...

I "knee(d)" this heart?

Broken Skylight

Plastered

I was walking at the (now nearly completely vandalized and destroyed) abandoned church across the street when I saw this bit of ceiling material that had fallen from the outside foyer area.

Looks like this heart is a little plastered?

Another Lichen Heart ...

A tiny branch,
Blown down with the wind
Onto the forest floor.

Brings me a hint
At the hearts up above
That I have missed before!!!

Cabbage Stem

I made a stir fry last night - and look what I found on the cutting board!

Foiled Again!

I was walking on the road yesterday - a rare sunny day around here! I saw the heart as I was walking, and actually had to do a double-take and walk back to see if I had really seen it.

Trash, thrown from someone's car, flattened by traffic ... became a beautiful treasure.

I'm just glad I was passing that way.

And that there was no traffic!
