The Heart To Let Go and Move On

Letting go is hard.
Holding on is harder.
This is the lesson I am learning.
Dumpsters full of stuff.
Garbage cans full of stuff.

Here is the moment
Where I find the heart to go on.

((hugs)) How eloquent you are! How elegant your words--Oh, Sissy--they fill my heart and I find myself sitting here weeping. You have the power to touch so many hearts with yours.

You have mine this morning.

Beautiful heart reflecting autumn, a time of changes. Beautiful words reflecting your tenderness and vulnerability. God bless you, Clytie.

Beautiful picture! I have the same feelings about getting rid of stuff. I have to be in a certain state of mind. Even then it is hard because I tend to attach memories to everything. My son is the same way, but my daughter not so much.

Beautiful!! Welcome back Sis, I have missed you and your heart and your eloquence so.
This has helped me when I had to sort through my Dad's and Grandma's possessions...Realizing that all the things that I had to disguard, I can hold in my heart forever and remember them and all the precious memories connected to them.
Someday we will all have to leave our precious things behind...I don't want to be in heaven worrying about all my stuff I left back on earth. I have learned to let go and it is very freeing. Love you

Attachments. Some of us are attached to things so strongly it's hard to let them go even if it's hurting us to keep them. From memories that keep us frozen in time, to relationships that may hurt us, to items/trinkets/tokens that once meant joy, romance, love, laughter. etc... It's hard to let any of it go. For if we do, we lose part of ourselves, our past, the feelings that we think are attached to "stuff". Don't we? Once we realize that those memories are forever inside our heart, kept in such a special place, no one can ever take them from us. Our hearts can then open some and see in order to move on, we have to do a little house keeping. Opening up the heart to let in the Light of a new relationship does not mean we've forgotten the past one. Opening the heart to a clean space, doesn't mean we've forgotten the items we thought defined us. We can clean the clutter and open the heart to so much more.
God put us on this planet to be a part of Life. Be a part of now. I too tend to keep "stuff" and well, what I'm finding is if I keep all the old stuff, I don't have any room for the new stuff. If an angel walked in, there may not be space enough for me to welcome them unless I let go of some of my boxes. Listen to your inner (or shall I say Higher) voice. "Here let me take that for you, I can help. Just give me one box and see." Letting go, Letting God. Give away one box at a time and soon your room will be open with the Light and it will shine into the depths of your soul my dear friend. Your burden is heavy and it is time to Lighten the load. You never walk alone. My heartfelt prayers are with you. Your words open my heart to give up some of my own boxes I keep. (physically and spiritually) Thank you dear one for sharing, giving us a piece of you... and in some small way... giving away some of your "stuff" already. Love and Light, Nina P.

I read your poem about the dumpster and letting go. It touched me deeply. You are so brave, so beautiful. A wonderful woman so strong and courageous. And just think! You are our daughter. Daddy and I love you so very, very much! Mom
