Oil Spill Heart - Weekend Reflections

Sometimes it's so beautiful -
The rainbow reflections on a drop of oil -
Dripped into the shape of a heart ...
BUT
A single drop of oil
Can contaminate a million drops of water.

That we sometimes don't care -
Is enough to make me cry.

So beautiful, and so toxic. You wish it wasn't there, and yet it's beautiful to see. Ambivalence.

Have a great weekend, hugs :-)

Magical! Pity we know that this symbolises toxic consequences!

what you have said here reminds me of a quote I found the other day:
The least pain in our little finger gives us more concern and uneasiness than the destruction of millions of our fellow-beings. -William Hazlitt, essayist (1778-1830)

I cry too, when I see this kind of things, even if the shape make it more lovable...

It is beautiful--dangerously lovely.

“May God give you...For every storm a rainbow, for every tear a smile, for every care a promise and a blessing in each trial. For every problem life sends,a huge red HEART to hold YOU , a faithful friend to share, for every sigh a sweet song and an answer for each prayer.”

Oil and water can be pretty to look at. But at the end of the day, they don't belong together.
