Okay I cheated ... I actually took this picture in December, when a small windstorm took down the few remaining autumn leaves ... a little late.
The sun had come out for a few minutes, and this sweetgum leaf glowed with color ...
I didn't see the hearts until later.
Happy New Year!

ooooohhhh clytie, i always tell the truth, even if the story would be more exciting telling a little white lie!!
i love the light gently touching this red beauty.....and it is the first you are sharing for 2012 ;)
i have a good one for thursday, i think you will love it also!!
Howdy Clytie
Oh wow what an amazing leaf !
I have been trying to remember the name of this tree as there were lots of them at the cemetery in Oklahoma ,and all around where my parents live, but when I got home to show my son the prickly treasures we used to make ornaments from I forgot what to call the tree :)
Again thank you for sharing your good fortune for unending sources of beauty. Things are so dry,and brown here in Central Texas . Our drought is said to continue on into 2012.I will need to come by and visit your visual eye candy often ! Well I will come by as often as I can.I am at home for the next several days before another long stay with the parents .My Dad is scheduled for more heart surgery . Take care and remember your a treasure to me and many others .
Big hugs coming to you from Texas
Until next time
Happy Trails
seems to me the hearts find you
I'm with Sandra--I think there's some kind of magical thing going on here--hearts find you. They do!
I love the color in this photo--it just fills my eyes.
