White Lilacs

The scent of lilacs takes me back
To my childhood --

Grammie's house
Surrounded by lilac trees, purple ones

White lilacs are like Grammie
Her soft fragrant beautiful white hair

I miss her.
But I still have this lilac heart.

To remind me.

Ah, me too, Sissyboo...what a beautiful poem. What a sweet, fragrant photo...oh.

Well, I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes, because both poem and photo fill my eyes...AND my heart.

Are those white lilacs from Beth's Garden? I remember planting them, if they are...

Lilacs definetly, deep purple lilacs hard to find now, the smell love it, the cool slightly moist feel of blossoms and soft leaves on my cheek, instant transportation to childhood to the edges of Gandma's seemingly endless back yard or held captive in a crystal vase on her dining room table.
Thanks for the heart trip Sis your poem was a gift to me this morning.
