Glorylight!
I was going through the pictures on my camera and remembering good times ... when I noticed a picture I took at my sister's house during the yard sale. Much to my amazement, I had captured a cloudy day heart, glorylight spilling from it's depths!

A Critter Kind of Weekend - Spit Bug!!!
It was a critter kind of weekend for me. I took pictures of dragonflies, spiders, a moth with a 6" wingspan, and a baby rabbit. I noticed that, before the rainstorm on Saturday, there was an amazing number of spitbugs - they were everywhere! I have always disliked spitbugs, probably because of the "spit" part. But this one endeared itself to me by blowing its delicate bubble nest into the shape of a heart!

Ah Nuts!
I don't like peanuts.
I have never liked peanuts.
I never will like peanuts.
I don't like peanut butter ...
Except when mixed with honey.
Around here peanuts get stale.
Then I don't feel so bad ...
When I feed them to the critters
First, though, I crush them.
And sometimes ... a heart happens.
I like hearts.
I have always liked hearts.
I still don't like peanuts.

Bits of Crayon
All the colors of the rainbow
Enthralled us -
Sometimes.
We would tear the paper off
Just because we could.
And throw it on the floor.
"Stay inside the lines"
"Don't write on the wall"
It hasn't changed.
Kids still love the colors of the rainbow
And don't stay inside the lines.
They write on tables and walls ...
And tear the paper off
Just because they can.
A crayon heart to be swept up.
Into the trash.
Is still beautiful.
Enthralled us -
Sometimes.
We would tear the paper off
Just because we could.
And throw it on the floor.
"Stay inside the lines"
"Don't write on the wall"
It hasn't changed.

Likin' the Lichen
When it's dry outside these lichen are barely visible. They dry up into little black blobs that crackle if you step on them.
When they swell up in the rain, their glory is evident. If you step on them, you may end up on the ground wondering what you slipped on.
And you may have slipped on this beautiful, graceful, weird looking lichen heart.
Maybe it softened your landing. I certainly hope so!

A moment on the Lips ...
The parking lot was full.
They were smashing a car on the other side.
For charity, of course, $1 a swing with a sledge hammer.
The newspaper people were photographing every angle, every hit.
Something far more interesting was in front of me.
People stopped to stare.
At the crazy woman with the camera.
Taking pictures of the ground.
At least I wasn't bashing a car!!!

Doodle Tattoo
My daughter draws the most beautiful, intricate doodles I have seen. Yes, I said "doodles". Most of the time she throws them away! This time, she won't be able to, because she drew this heart especially for me! If you enlarge this picture, you will be as amazed as I am at the detail she puts into each and every drawing.

A Slippery Situation
Some years ago I "made" soap for everyone on my Christmas list. For each person I embedded a small object that reminded me of them ... marbles, beads, herbs, etc. (my brother got a dried up cat turd).
Anyway, I was cleaning out the bathroom shelves and found a package of my handmade soap tucked clear in the back behind the tablecloths and stuff on the top (nearly unreachable) shelf. How it survived all this time without crumbling apart is a mystery to me! Even the rosemary sprigs are still in one piece.
