Our cool wet winters here in the Pacific Northwest bring an amazing array of colorful lichens, mushrooms and all things fungal.
These bright yellow hearts brighten our lives and remind us that not all is dreary and dark this time of year.

I needed to hear that this morning, my darling Sissy. After yesterday's disaster, and today's continued aches and pains, it is good to think of beauty and light--especially when it has been so dark and dank for so long.
Perhaps it will snow? One can always hope. (grin) This is a beautiful photo, Sissy--just gorgeous and fills my eyes.
We get those around here too, but I haven't seen any since the fall. I'm liken' the title of your post!
Oh I love the splash of color! We are covered in white here but that's OK as the Son still glistens over the soft white snow. Blessings to you dear soul. Love and Light, Nina P
Cool beans Sissy Cea...I just love all your unique flora...amazing variety of wonderful things on this old planet...thanks for sharing them with me.
I hope you Monday is a happy, hearty one. love you.
Don't see lichen like that around these parts. Too dry most of the time. That pic is beautiful!!
