Dayton Hearts It's Children

Last Saturday I spent several hours wandering around the tiny town of Dayton, Oregon. The town was getting ready for it's annual "Cinco de Mayo" celebration, and the streets were full of vendors and people just out to have a good time, despite the wind and rain.

I found a rummage sale, and spent $4.95 of the $5 I had in my pocket ... I bought 2 gift bags (with hearts, of course!), 3 paperback books, 2 old watches, a heart cookie cutter, and a set of 4 shot glasses for my collection. What a haul!

Then I found this delightful sign near the primary school ...

We 'heart' our children.
Precious!!!

It is a nice sign. Drivers often speed through small towns with no heed to the safety of its residents.

this is probably a nice, friendly neighbourhood.

That's an interesting contrast between the heart and the standard sign lettering.
