The rains came back yesterday - from a gentle mist to a pounding torrent.
We were shut inside, watching the puddles in the garden grow and spread.
Finally, right before sunset, a ray of light peeked through, and
for about 20 minutes, the sun shone brightly!
I grabbed my camera and ran outside.
A dying leaf, drenched with rain caught my eye ... silhouetted by the dying rays of the sun.
"Shadow Shot Sunday!" I cried, clicking away.
Then I looked at the shadows on the leaf. Right there, at the bottom ... do you see the shadow heart?

If you hadn't described the photo, I never would have known what I was looking at! It is lovely.
I ONCE HAD A SHADOW
I once had a shadow—or did she have me?
My shadow and I could never agree.
I would say something, she’d say the reverse;
Our arguments flared, my lips I would purse,
Refusing to speak to her anymore—
So my shadow got up and marched out the door!
I have not seen her from that day to this—
That’s one stubborn shadow I surely don’t miss!

Shadows here and here
This amazing heart was clear to me in the thumbnail view; it's a beauty! Magical's poem is cute -- I'm trying to remember when I last saw my shadow. I'm looking forward to the day the furnace doesn't come on in the morning. Brrr.
wow what a gorgeous photo! so bright!
thanks for your visit!
I see I'm not the only person who grabs my camera and runs out the door after a rain!
I love the way the sun dances on the leaf, giving it a spark of life for a few more minutes. Thank you for sharing this moment.
Awesome shot and shadow.
Beautiful shadow patterns!
Late visiting for SSS, here's some more shadow shots, have a great week ahead.
That's a beautiful shot and extra special for capturing such a perfect little heart! The golden glow of the leaf is magical! Have a wonderful week :)
The comments are as beautiful as the heart! Yipee for grabbing the camera and running. Do you know how many times I have been late due something beautiful?
I just adore this picture and the description--liquid sunshine, that's what it is!
Fills my eyes, Sissy--this fills my eyes.
