All the colors of the rainbow
Enthralled us -
Sometimes.
We would tear the paper off
Just because we could.
And throw it on the floor.
"Stay inside the lines"
"Don't write on the wall"
It hasn't changed.
Kids still love the colors of the rainbow
And don't stay inside the lines.
They write on tables and walls ...
And tear the paper off
Just because they can.
A crayon heart to be swept up.
Into the trash.
Is still beautiful.
