A Critter Kind of Weekend - Spit Bug!!!

It was a critter kind of weekend for me. I took pictures of dragonflies, spiders, a moth with a 6" wingspan, and a baby rabbit. I noticed that, before the rainstorm on Saturday, there was an amazing number of spitbugs - they were everywhere! I have always disliked spitbugs, probably because of the "spit" part. But this one endeared itself to me by blowing its delicate bubble nest into the shape of a heart!

What the holy heck is a spitbug??? It sounds terrible although I guess if they leave little hearts around it's okay.....but SPIT a that would be NOPE.

Hahahahaa....Deann! You are SO cute! (grin)

Sissy--I'm the same, I've always disliked spit bugs--they're just disgusting!

What I love about this picture is how it fills my eyes--that strange feeling I get when I see something wonderful--and the other thing is, I LOVE your description of this photograph. It is so beautiful. I could see that little bug blowing delicate bubbles against the green leaves...and I was transfixed.

You are such a gifted artist, not only with pictures, but with words. ((hugs))

Oh, and did you notice the warm brown heart of earth next to the bubble heart? Gorgeous pic!
