Likin' the Lichen

When it's dry outside these lichen are barely visible. They dry up into little black blobs that crackle if you step on them.

When they swell up in the rain, their glory is evident. If you step on them, you may end up on the ground wondering what you slipped on.

And you may have slipped on this beautiful, graceful, weird looking lichen heart.

Maybe it softened your landing. I certainly hope so!

How unusual I have never see anything like that. Cool! Thanks for the botany lesson. If I'm ever in Oregon on a rainy day I'll watch my step. :o}

Totally Gorgeous, Sissy--WOW! My eyes are full of heart-felt fungi. Hahahaa...

So graceful, wierd and alien--but a heart non-the-less.

Lots of heart-shape hugs to you sweetie, I love your work here - always hunting for hearts, what great subjects to search for. I try to find them, the natural one's but so far haven't find many. I always think of you Clytie when I do see a heart shape :) THANK YOU AGAIN MY DEAR FRIEND, I may not always tell you but I do so appreciate the time YOU take to visit my blogs and your always interesting comments.
May God continually smile down on you and place lots of heart shapes for YOU to find....
