Spilled Coffee - For Dad

I am dedicating this post to my dad. He loves coffee and makes the best in the house. Yesterday when he and my mom were driving home from my sister's house, he somehow drove off the freeway and rolled his car multiple times. Mom is okay, but dad has some severe injuries. He was nearly scalped and fractured a vertebra in his neck (sounds less ominous than "he broke his neck"). He will be recovering for a long time. The wonderful part is that he WILL be recovering for a long time. God willing.

So this coffee is for you, Dad! I love you and I'm praying for you.

Amen and amen, Sissy. What a wonderful tribute to Dad. So perfect.

I am so grateful Mumsie is only bumped and bruised. From looking at the condition of their vehicle, it is a miracle they are alive.

The doctors did not do surgery on Dad's neck because the spinal cord was not affected by the crack in the bone. I've been teasing Dad, that when they graft skin to the remaining uncovered part on the top of his already bald head, that they're going to take his sideburns and graft 'em up there--so he'll have an impressive looking mohawk.

Dad got the cutest little grin on his face. Then he was out again. I love you, Sissy. ((HUGS)))

Dad I love you, too--and I'm praying for you.

May God be with you and your family during this frightening time. May God grant His Healing Power and Grace to your Dad, Mom and the rest of your family. You and yours will be in my thoughts and prayers. I wrote a poem for those who are sick and thought it might bring you some comfort:

I am SO sorry to hear about this accident. I'll be praying for you and your family for sure. When my Mom was 80, I think, she got into a terrible car accident. She stepped on the gas instead of the break and totaled the car. Broke her pelvis and had severe injuries. But she recovered just fine!
