Heart Cloud

Wednesday was an amazing day for clouds.
My dear sister Beth came over for a while,
We went to Gleaners, then went for a walk.

On our way back to the house, we found this amazing heart in the sky directly above our heads. The sun shone so brightly, I was afraid I wouldn't get the shot.

But I did!!!

Then there is my dear friend and sister Beth's Elk Dung Heart she found during a challenge a we gave each other last year. Isn't this one of the most unique hearts ever?

Beth is an amazing artist, and if you aren't familiar with her work, you are missing out!

Abe Lincoln is a wonderful man, married to the equally wonderful Patty.
Abe takes the most amazing pictures of birds for his Birds Blog, and right away I noticed the Starling he posted had the most amazing little hearts all over it's back.

This false morel mushroom seems to turn itself inside out -
In the process, it becomes a heart!

This arrangement of items breaks my heart.
I found it this way - a black tape heart and meth-cooking foil.

Dad loves hot wings, but he couldn't eat them all, and left the package on the counter ...
Right away I saw the heart!

What I didn't see right away was the chicken wing monk,
Up there in the corner,
Hands clasped in prayer.

A Reflecting Glob of Heart - Weekend Reflections

The roof leaks at the abandoned church. There was an inch of water on the floor in one of the massive rooms ... and a heart. If you look closely, you can see a footprint below the heart.

My wonderful friend Lois at Tallahassee Daily Photo found this Spanish moss heart a while back. In fact, this is how I found her blog! Thank you Cheryl for the introduction!

Lois' son got married last month, and during rehearsals for the grand event, she found this beautiful stone heart. Isn't it perfect?

And look what my friend Sunny over at Barnyards and Barnacles found - ON VALENTINES DAY! A perfect potato chip heart!

The Heart of Fanno Creek Nature Park

I leave the house early on Thursdays, when it's time to go to Tigard to pick up mom at the Senior Center. That way I get to take a walk around the nearby Fanno Creek Nature Park.

That's where I found this tree -
It's scarred trunk showing the

Dirt Heart

Drying winds have been blowing
Sucking the winter's rains from the earth.

Leaving behind little patches of arid ground ...
And this heart.

Tiny Lichen Heart

Sissie and I took a walk a couple of weeks ago. I was entranced by this tiny delicate lichen heart I found on a branch. I looked over and there was sissie - taking a picture of ANOTHER tiny lichen heart - on a different branch!

My friend Pamela at Dum Spiro Spero sent me this picture of a piece of bread she got with her meal ... shaped like a heart!

My friend Jeannette at mysteries found a heart too - in a piece of wood!

It seems hearts keep popping up all over! Believe me when I say I am awed and humbled when someone says 'I saw a random heart today and thought of you".

Drying Spring Heart

This time of year typically brings rain.
And sun.
And rain.

This heart appeared after a brief shower,
Right after the sun came out.

Before it rained again.

Rusty Heart

I wonder how long this piece of metal had to sit here ...
Exposed to wind and rain ...
And snow ...

How long ...
Before this heart appeared ...
Slowly ...
One drop at a time ...
Oxidizing steel into rust ...

How long before ...
It changes again ...
Another shape emerging ...
To be Wondered at ...

Glass "S" Heart

Someone over at the abandoned church left this heart.
They must have worked for a long time,
Finding all of these glass shards.

They started to put someone's initials - but stopped after the letter "S".
I wonder if they got spooked.
Or just distracted ...

I wonder, though, who left their heart -
To be stepped on,
Kicked apart.

Broken Concrete Heart

The depression is somewhat oval ...

It's the wind-blown debris ...
That found it's way into that empty spot ...
That became the heart of the broken concrete.

Sissie's Hearts!

I got to visit Sissie last week -
And look what I found!
A heart!
In her hubby's bass guitar!
She was suitably impressed.

But the best heart by far -
Was worn by sissie herself!!!

Spring Bracken Heart

The bracken ferns are starting to unfurl,
Soon they will be huge.

This one caught my eye ...
You can see why!

In another week, this heart will be gone -
Part of an even bigger Spring miracle.

I like it both ways.
