Guest Heart Thursday #20 - For Dani
First of all, let me introduce you to Dani.
She is from Macedonia, and her blog Snow Flowers is one of my favorites.
I am dedicating this very special Guest Heart Thursday post to Dani - and I have included here some of my favorite hearts that have discovered her.
Dani started submitting random hearts to Guest Heart Thursday from the very beginning, and I am constantly amazed at the hearts that discover her each week!
I wanted to feature Dani's hearts today, because she is leaving her home in Macedonia ... and will be moving to China for several years.
A whole new world, full of opportunity, amazement ... and hearts, we hope!
The problem is ... we're not sure Dani will have access to her blogs from China.
She may be unable to post the hearts she finds ...
We may be still able to share our hearts via e-mail ...
I hope!
Dani, thank you so much for being the beautiful, kind, generous, wonderful, gentle soul that you are. I am so very excited for your journey ... though I will miss you.
I am so glad to have met you.
A fellow heart-seeker!
And am proud to have known you.
And I am sooooo looking forward to seeing what you come up with in China!!!
Keep those e-mails coming, girl!
I will be honored to post what you send.
A huge thank you to all who participated in Guest Heart Thursday last week. I loved seeing the wonderful hearts you found in your world!
If you have found a heart (or drawn a heart, or designed a heart, or ...), please join us for Guest Heart Thursday. Just link the URL of your heart to Linky!

Bottled Heart
I found this picture while going through some of my old photos ...
This 'Work of Heart' was produced by the Living Enrichment Center ... otherwise referred to as "The Abandoned" ...
When they went bankrupt and abandoned the property across the street, they also left a lot of trash in little heaps around the property.
But they also left a heart.
A trashy heart, yes, but a heart nonetheless.

Shadow Hand Heart
Sissie and I were walking in the woods when this heart chipped out of a dead stump caught my eye. Sissie tried to grab it with her shadow hand, but couldn't quite catch it!
To see shadows from around the world, visit Hey Harriet's Shadow Shot Sunday, and start seeing the world in a whole different light ... er, shadow!

Guest Heart Thursday #19
I am constantly delighted and amazed at how many hearts are being found - all over the world! Look at the heart Tsuki at Lune de Male-Daumon found.
Since her post wasn't in English, I looked up her profile and found she is from 'Loire-Atlantique'.
I must confess ... I had no idea where that is!
I know better now ... According to Wikipedia, Loire-Atlantique (formerly Loire-Inférieure) is a department on the west coast of France named after the Loire River and the Atlantic Ocean.
What a wonderful place to find a heart!
Thank you SO much, Tsuki!
Hearts really are being found everywhere.
Jayleigh over at Pacific Northwest Nature for Families found this beautiful bindweed heart ...
in the Pacific Northwest - which happens to be where I am!
If you haven't seen this wonderful blog, I recommend you check it out.
I did, and had a wonderful time.
Thank you so much for sharing your heart, Jayleigh!

Nilla, A Home Far Away, is an up and coming photographer, who just recently had a baby ...
I have watched as her photography skills have grown, and her life has unfolded.
Every once in a while, she adds a heart to her pictures.
I always love it when she does!
Thank you for sharing your heart, Nilla
Then there is the AMAZING Dani of Snow Flowers.
She brightens my life with the way she sees the world ... with her astonishing hearts ... with her warmth and generosity.
Dani will be leaving for China in 2 weeks. I sincerely hope she will keep sharing the hearts that find her. What an exciting time!
Thank you SO much, Dani, for sharing your heart(s).
Mom was cleaning the kitchen when she called me over.
"Look at the counter. From this angle over here - there's a heart!"
Sure enough, mom's heart - reflecting light from the fixture above - was plainly visible!
Mom, known to the world as Eva Gibson, is a wonderful writer. Her blog "Everybody Loves a Story", is a joy to read. I hope you enjoy it!
Thanks mom, for finding and sharing your heart.

Guest Heart Thursday #18
Susannah, over at Wanderin' Weeta, took this picture of some ducks playing in the water.
She didn't even realize she had captured a heart!!!
Susannah, you have taught me so much - how to see the tiny joys in life. I will always be grateful to you.
Thank you for sharing your heart.
Beth's blog, The Abandoned, features the once-abandoned mega-church that lurks across the street from my house. Set on 42 acres of formerly beautiful and landscaped property, The Abandoned has become a place of unexpected moments of beauty amidst unbelievable neglect and ugliness.
The property was purchased last month, and is Abandoned no longer. It will take a lot of hard work on the part of the new owners to make this place welcome again, but we are willing to wait!
Thank you, Beth, for sharing your heart!
I remember when Cheryl over at Nostalgia: Today and Yesterday first posted this wonderful heart - it was a long time ago. I was entranced by the shape of the leaf - frozen by winter - into a beautiful heart.
Thank you for sharing your heart, Cheryl. You are so special and I appreciate you!
Melinda Lincoln doesn't have a blog, but that's okay! She sent this amazing squash leaf heart to my sister via Facebook!!!
Thank you, Melinda, for sharing your heart.
I hope you have a blessed week.
At first I didn't see the heart here. Do you?
Take a second look. At the leaves in the lower left hand corner.
Judy over at Lilac Gate takes the most amazing macros of plants.
I often gasp in wonder and astonishment at her photos.
Nobody else can take the ordinary and make it extraordinary like Judy does.
Thank you, my friend, for sharing your heart!

Squashed Fir Cone Heart
My daughter Victoria and I were going for a walk the other day
My wonderful nephews Jon and Derrick joined us.
We had such a good time - walking and talking and laughing.
I think the day rejoiced with hearts -
This is just one of many we found!
A fir cone on the side of the road - squashed by passing cars ...
Into this heart.

Guest Heart Thursday #17
You don't have to be a blogger to find a heart ...
Just ask my friend Dennis!
He and his wife Sharon live in the most peaceful place around - just off the Molalla River in Canby, Oregon. Their yard is a dream, with aviaries for their exotic birds, and a barn and pasture for their other critters. I love visiting there!
In the front yard, they have carefully placed this huge rock.
Because they, too, recognize it's HEART!
Thank you Dennis and Sharon for all you do!
Squirrel Queen, whose work over at Through Squirrel Eyes delights my heart and soul, found this gorgeous dahlia heart in her garden. It is perfect!
And if you don't believe that she has the 'eye' for the special hearts in her world, be sure to check out her GHT entry last week (you can't miss this one - it's too special!) ...
Thank you so much, Squirrel Queen!
Mar over at Maremagnum found this spectacular white heart at the river.
It's gorgeous color really makes it stand out - and even it's shadow is doin' the 'heart thing'!
Thank you, Mar!
Can you believe Limar (From My Replicator) was hesitant to share this stunning heart?
I think it is one of the most endearing hearts ever!
The darkness of the background makes this simple ribbon glow!
Thank you, Limar!
And Cheryl, whose fun blog March to March is chronicling a full year of photos, found this wonderful mossy heart.
I appreciate you so much, Cheryl!
Thank you.

Thistle Seed Heart
These thistles are considered to be invasive.
If they grow on your property, you will get a notice from the COUNTY to remove them - or face the consequences.
This particular thistle was growing next to the road.
The COUNTY maintained road.
Funny, eh?
So ... even though it's considered an invasive weed,
there's nothing wrong with the heart it created!

Grafitti Hearts - From The Abandoned
They sneak in at all hours of the day and night ...
The walls of the abandoned mega-church are their canvas.
They create art.
And some not-so-art.
They sneak in at all hours of the day and night ...
The walls of the abandoned mega-church are their canvas.
They destroy art.
And some not-so-art.
They both leave behind hearts ...
And something else.
I have been picking up these broken bits of grafitti that litter the floor of this place. The colors and patterns are just too beautiful to let go to a dumpster somewhere ... I scrape off the drywall still adhering to the backs of these pieces, and bring them home.
And decided to make ...
Street He'Art'
(3 1/2" x 2 1/2")
My first attempt is on the side bar to the right.
What do you think?
